I decided to start this group because I love drumming, playing drums, teaching drumming and all things drummy (especially with the West African djembe drum).
… Some of the various sounds will come from Native American flutes, Australian didgeridoos, Arab hand drums & ouds, harmonicas, Celtic fiddles & whistles, guitars, electronic beats, Indian tablas, tanpuras, and African drums of all sorts. We will also collaborate with a Kirtan (Devotional Chanting to Indian deities) group in the city and create smooth fusions in powerful meditative states. Join us on the 4th Saturday of each month for the Sacred Heartbeat Drum Circle. This event is open to everyone not just drummers. No drumming experience is necessary. We will be doing some freestyle drumming inside in the Sanctuary with plenty of seating so no need to bring a chair. Please bring your drums, rattles, didgeridoo and other instruments to join in on the jam. We will have limited hand percussion and drums available to share on the a first come first serve basis.
